Christina Zavell Mediation strongly discourages you from using AI tools (such as ChatGPT, Claude, or similar services) to draft emails, letters, summaries, or other communications you send to her. AI tools frequently generate inaccurate or misleading information. Further, AI tends to generate text that is overly long and wordy – Christina charges for her time both to review documents in preparation for mediation and during mediations. The lengthy and inaccurate output from AI creates unnecessary billable hours. Mediation is a forum for both parties to articulate their own interests and ideas for a resolution. It is unique and customized to each family. AI frequently creates unrealistic expectations and can become an obstacle to each of you architecting your own next chapter.

On a separate but related note, if you upload information or type something into a non-sequestered AI, you are giving a third-party your private information and potentially waiving attorney-client privilege. When you use free or public AI tools (such as ChatGPT, Gemini, or Claude) to draft letters, analyze financial documents, or ask questions about your Case, you are sharing your private information with a third-party corporation. These platforms use what you type or upload to train their systems. AI tools and platforms can retain the data you provide. If your spouse, their lawyer, or a stranger runs a question about you through AI, the tools and AI platforms could reveal your private facts, financial strategies, personal secrets, etc. Please be mindful to preserve you and your family’s privacy during this process.
